Letter to Jeff Ferraby

Open letter from Mary Munro-Hill to Jeff Ferraby
“For Jeffrey Ferraby”

Sunday 23 May 2021,

Hello Jeffrey (or Jeff) Ferraby!
It would be good to meet you again after 66 years!
The last time I saw you was at Bricknell Avenue Junior School in 1954.
We were not in the same form, unfortunately, but I think we had mixed PE classes sometimes. On one occasion, the teacher joked, asking us all to lie on our backs to do cycling movements in the air, pretending we were all cycling to Ferriby. (Not really very funny at all!)
My mother, your first cousin, Joan Munro (daughter of Mary Ferraby and Joseph Tinkler), used often to visit your parents, Alf (brother of Mary) and Maggie, of whom she was very fond. I went with her once or twice.
Please get in touch with me if you receive this. It would be lovely to renew acquaintance.
Best wishes,
Mary.
